ALBA-Agriculture & Land-Based Training Association is a nonprofit based in Salinas, California, dedicated to creating economic opportunities for limited-resource and aspiring organic farmers. We operate a 93-acre certified organic farm where we provide land-based education, on-farm training, and subsidized access to land and equipment over a five-year program. Our focus is on empowering farmworkers, primarily Latino immigrants, to transition from employment to farm ownership by incubating over 250 organic farms, most of which are Latino owned. We also support the development of sustainable, equitable agriculture through our Farmworker Opportunity Center, which offers training, resources, and community engagement to foster the next generation of organic farmers and agricultural leaders. Our work advances social equity, ecological land management, and economic viability within the organic farming sector.
