Carding Brook Farm is a 200-year-old organic farm located in Brooklin, Maine, producing certified organic vegetables and timber frames. We farm using low-impact methods with horses, focusing on sustainable practices such as crop rotation, cover cropping, and minimal tillage. Our operations include harvesting vegetables like greens, tomatoes, and root crops, as well as selective logging and timber frame construction. We raise livestock for fertility and produce high-quality compost. Our farm supports local markets, restaurants, and community-supported agriculture programs, emphasizing soil health, biodiversity, and local food systems. We also practice sustainable logging and timber framing, integrating forestry with farming to promote ecological balance and resource efficiency.
