First Rain Farm is a certified organic farm located in Nevada City, California, operating 36 acres in the Sierra Nevada foothills. We produce mixed vegetables for farmers markets and wholesale, and grow vegetable seed for the organic market. Our farm integrates pastured animal production with row crops and fruit, emphasizing soil health through no-till practices and composting. We generate 90 percent of our fertility on-site using animals and compost, and focus on sustainable land stewardship, forest thinning, vegetation management, and prescribed burning. Our team is dedicated to producing high-quality, diverse organic produce while maintaining ecological balance and soil vitality, serving regional food systems and organic seed markets.
