Homeless Garden Project is a nonprofit urban farm based in Santa Cruz, California, dedicated to providing job training, transitional employment, and support services to individuals experiencing homelessness. We cultivate organic fruits, vegetables, and flowers on four certified acres using regenerative agricultural practices. Our programs focus on healing, skill development, and community reintegration, offering therapeutic gardening environments that foster self-worth and purpose. We sell fresh produce through farm stands, a CSA program, and local stores, with all proceeds supporting our mission. We also develop handmade crafts by trainees, creating sustainable income streams and strengthening community ties. Our farm serves as a model for social impact and sustainable urban agriculture, promoting inclusivity and resilience in the local food system.
