Thatchmore Farm Inc. is a certified organic family farm located in Leicester, North Carolina, operating since 1987. We cultivate ten acres of diverse crops including fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, nuts, and Christmas trees. Our greenhouses extend the growing season for crops like tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, ginger, and turmeric, primarily heated with wood biomass. We grow a variety of field vegetables such as lettuce, kale, and peppers, and produce woodland crops like blueberries, apples, Asian pears, and goumi berries. We also grow shiitake mushrooms, organic hollies, and Christmas trees. Our farm sells directly at farmers markets, through a CSA, and online, emphasizing sustainable practices and soil health. We are certified organic by a USDA-accredited agency, ensuring high standards for quality and environmental stewardship. Our operations support local food systems, promote biodiversity, and provide fresh, organic products to regional markets and consumers seeking sustainable, farm-grown foods.
